GENERAL LEDGER ENHANCED DETAIL INQUIRY, HISTORY AND REPORTING
(AVEM26)

The General Ledger Detail Inquiry and Reporting Enhancement (AVEM26) works in conjunction with the MAPICS DB/XA General Ledger application, allowing the user to display and report any combination of three column "spread sheets" using Current Year, Previous Year, Next Year (actual or budget) data. This enhancement provides the user with comparative General Ledger Inquiries including any combination of companies and General Ledger accounts, for both Current and History transactions.

AVE's General Ledger History Enhancement:

Uses existing MAPICS DB Year 2000 and all MAPICS XA files, both Current and
History for Inquiry and Reporting purposes

The TEMGEN file as well as the MAPICS General Ledger History file are used
automatically (combined) without the user having to determine which file they want to
use

Immediate Print capability for any inquiry for any MAPICS Posted Journal Entry or
General Ledger Master File Information, or any Displayed Transactions

Transfer between the General Ledger Master File and Posted Journal Detail Inquiries
via Command Keys

The General Ledger Master File Inquiry allows the user to display Current Year,
Previous Year, Next Year, Posted Journals and Budget Figures by Month

Three columns of data are displayed for the beginning balance, each month and ending
balance. Any combination of credits, debits, net (debits minus credits) for an combination
of Current Year, Next Year, or Budget may be selected for the columns. Data for any
combination of Companies and General Ledger Numbers may be accumulated and
displayed

Display Posted Journals (General Ledger detail transactions) for any combination of
Companies, range of Accounting Periods and/or range of Transaction Source and/or
Journal Reference numbers without respect to what has been posted or closed into
history. Total debits and total credits, beginning balance, ending balance and net journal
total for the displayed transactions appear at the bottom of the screen

Highlights/Comparison to Existing MAPICS DB Year 2000 and all releases of MAPICS XA Programs

Dramatic Enhancements have been made to make MAPICS DB Year 2000 and all release of MAPICS XA General Ledger Inquiry and Transaction Reporting truly functional, as well as accessing historical General Ledger information. This enhancement virtually eliminates the need to transfer data to a PC for analysis not available in MAPICS.

MAPICS General Ledger Master Inquiry:

As is:
Display monthly totals for a single company for a single General Ledger Account for the Current Year, Previous Year or Budget Year.

Enhanced:
Display monthly totals for any combination of Companies and General Ledger Accounts with three columns of display showing any combination of Current Year, Previous Year, Budget Year or Next Year displaying either the monthly Net Totals (Net of Debits or Credits), or Debits or Credits.

When multiple Companies/Accounts are selected, the user may display account totals and page through individual displays for each Company/Account.

Immediate print of any data selected.

Immediate advance to display detailed Journal Transactions without having to end the account inquiry and advance through a series of menus.

MAPICS Posted Journal Inquiry:

As is:
Display Posted Journals for Current Year or History for a single Company/Account with each Inquiry with requirement to know what accounting periods have been posted and which periods are in history.

Enhanced:
Display Posted Journals for any combination of Companies for a single account for any range of accounting periods without respect to what periods have been posted and/or closed into history.

Display Beginning Balance, Total Debits, Total Credits, Net Transaction Totals and Ending Balance.

Limit displayed transactions to a range of Transaction Sources and/or Journal Reference Numbers.

Immediate printing of displayed transactions.

Immediate advance to Inquiry of General Ledger Master File data without having to end the inquiry and advance through a series of menus.

MAPICS Posted Journals Report:

As is:
List Posted Journal Entries with requirement to select either from Current or Restored History.

Enhanced:
List Posted Journal Entries for any range of General Ledger Account Numbers, Transaction Sources, Journal Reference Numbers and Dates without respect to whether the data is in Current or History files. The enhanced version will combine data from both files.
